Honestly there are some days where I just don’t know what I should write about on here or how to talk about fashion, especially when fashion can have such a different meaning to someone else! For me fashion is an escape it is the idea that I can dress and be whoever I want to be whenever I want. It is what gives me confidence in my everyday life and when I finally decided on that one look to leave the house in I know I’m ready to take on the world. For the most part fashion is aspirational, it is something that we all look at and hope that one day we can have the means to buy those designer pieces we desire season after season.

Fashion has always given me an outlet to really be creative, I love sewing and wanted to be a designer since I was a kid, and just recently we started to see a shift in Menswear that is taking it to this new cool edgy place and changing opinions about what men can wear. I used to always want to take the things I saw in women’s wear and turn it into Menswear so for that reason I started designing. This post even though I had no idea what I wanted to write and struggled to get the adequate words out is a very special one for me, because it is the first time I am showcasing something that I have custom made for myself.

So please enjoy this lace up grey jacket that is the first Dakota Jaymes Original that will be featured on the blog I have so many other great pieces that I have been making that I cant wait to share with you all and who knows one day they may be available, because that would be a dream! So if you like what you see please let me know I would love to hear your feed back on it.

So for this look because I wanted to showcase my own design I paired it down with an all black ensemble from ASOS. There is a mocked collar black sweater, tucked in to a pair of slim fit chinos. Then finished off with some chunky black sock boots. Like I have said before the best way to showcase a specific piece on a look is to pair it down and keep it simple. I also chose to go with a wet hair look because I’m starting to get into a bit more of the grunge styling and who knows maybe I’ll try some E-Boy make-up with one of my up coming looks. Hope you all enjoy this look, I was really happy with the photos and of course my jacket.
