Honestly, there are some days that I wake up and have zero ideas on what to wear or have no motivation to style a complete look. With that being said I have developed a casual effortless no thinking style that still looks like I tried and put something together, and I am going to share that with you right now. For the effortless I didn’t try but I totally look like I did style you really only have to know one thing and that is to layer basics. By layering solid basics you are adding dimension to a look with out having to worry about prints or added flair, and you’re really just creating a simple color blocked outfit. It is honestly so easy to throw on a hoodie and a t-shirt with some shorts or pants and look like you actually tried. The key to this type of style is making sure the length of the layers are all different and hit you at flattering points and if you are still worried about your look, keep it even simpler and do it in a full one color monochromatic look. This type of dressing is being made popular by both Yeezy and The Kardashian’s who wear this one color layered looks all the time.

For this look, which came out of complete desperation the other day when waking up for work late and having minutes to get ready. I really did just grab things that I knew would work well with each other from the colors to the silhouettes. So with that being said I chose a grey color palette, which I have plenty of in my wardrobe. I also still felt like being comfy because I was still half asleep, so I grabbed an oversized white crew neck sweater and paired it with a long line grey t-shirt and a darker grey short. Then to tie it back into the white sweater I added my white Doc Marten’s to the look and continued the layering by slipping on some Van’s grey calf socks to add to the dimension of the total look. Finishing it off with a grey hat so that I didn’t have to actually do my hair because I was running late. Now to make it look a bit more stylized I tied the Doc Marten’s with a wrap style and a bow in the back and some minimal accessories, because adding even one ring or an earring makes it look like you tired.

Overall for how quickly this look was thrown together it has become one of my favorites. I just love the way it looks on and it is so comfortable and easy to wear. But the impact of the final outfit still stands out and holds its own while being completely minimal and thrown together, literally anyone could do this and they would look stylish and cool, and no one would be the wiser that you just rolled out of bed.
